Where We Are: Jungian Analysts in the 21 st Century
A 57 minute Documentary Film,
with an additional 25 minutes of “Special Selections”

" Where We Are: Jungian Analysts in the 21st Century masterfully takes us into the lives and psyches of nine Jungian analysts practicing in these times. The film speaks with deeply felt honesty and passion, reminding all of us what brought us to Jung in the first place. It is a fertile source of inspiration and wisdom for people seeking meaning in their lives. I highly recommend it."
Linda Schierse Leonard , Ph.D. , Jungian analyst and author of The Wounded Woman, On the Way to the Wedding,
and The Call to Create

“A beautifully produced, deeply moving portrait of what it is to be a Jungian analyst in America today. We see and hear a fascinating variety of Colorado analysts, male and female, think and feel deeply about the individuation process and their role in that process. There's not an ounce of pretense in a single one. I liked them all.”
Robin Robertson, Ph.D., Jungian oriented psychologist and author of
“Jungian Archetypes: Jung, Godel, and the History of Archetypes”

"Emotional, honest, and informative. .. . a helpful instrument in education  for candidates and students."
Valery Zelensky, Director of Information Centre of Psychoanalytic Culture in Russia
and President of the Fund for the Support of Analytical Psychology in Russia

"Where We Are is an excellent introduction for someone newly interested in Jungian psychology or for candidates in any psychology training program". Read the full review by Chie Lee as published in Psychology Perspectives

Where We Are: Jungian Analysts in the 21 st Century weaves together interviews with nine Jungian analysts into a narrative of the experience of living and working as a Jungian analyst in these times, a hundred years after the birth of Analytic Psychology.

It is a story about personal journeys, about a unique culture, and the future possibilities of the psyche opening up to us as we integrate new knowledge and understanding. Glen Carlson talks about the odd synchronicities in his life that led him from musician to Jungian analyst; Laura Dodson about her work in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union helping to heal “collective trauma;” Annie Meyer about discovering “a book by Jung as a housewife in Nova Scotia living subsistence farming”; Lara Newton about being guided into Jungian psychology through her relationship with author Linda Leonard; Gary Toub about how reading Jung as a young man brought together his interests in psychology and Taoist philosophy; Jean Carlson about her journey from California to Zurich to Denver and the founding of the C.G. Jung Institute of Colorado; Jeffrey Raff about exploring new territory “beyond the psyche;” Bernice Hill about her work on “money and the spiritual worker; Galin McGowan about her excitement embarking on her new career.

It is a look at Jungian psychology and analysis ‘from the inside out.'

“As both the filmmaker and Jungian analyst, “ said the film's producer Dr. Stephen Witty, “I believe I was able to get unusually frank and spontaneous interviews, taking the viewer into a fascinating world that I think most people don't get to see. Many Jungian are quite private people, so it surprised me how the film came together in such an intimate way.”

The film is divided into nine “chapters:” “ Beginnings;” “Training;” “Growth and Development;” “The Theory;” “The Process;” “Areas of Exploration;” “The Future;” “One Wish;” “To Loosen My Heart.” The DVD has five additional “Special Selections,” including “A Primer of Jungspeak,” “Interview with the Filmmaker,” “Three Analyst Dreams,” Jeffrey Raff: Beyond the Psyche,” Gary Toub's Sandtray.”
